VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION:
PLEASE ARRIVE AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR SHIFT TO RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS
To SIGN UP go to registration and find "Volunteer Sign Up" Button
Facility Set Up and Take Down: Must be 14 years or older
On arrival please check in with Krista Moody.
Setting up and taking down the tables, rink board coverage, judges stand, signage and general clean up.
The facility set up and take down works under the supervision of the Facilities/Operations Coordinator Krista Moody.

Driver
Must have a valid drivers licence.

Baking
There are a variety of different baking, please view our volunteer sign up list. Which can be found unfer our competition heading.
Registration Table: Must be 14 years or older
On arrival please proceed to the registration desk, and check in with Alison.
The Registration Desk Volunteer assists in the registration of skaters, coaches and volunteers.
They receive music from the skaters or coach and organize it by category and skater order.
They match up the skater’s CD and report card to give to the skater when he/she comes to pick up their music after competing. Once your shift is completed, please hand over the role to the next volunteer.

Boutique (Prize Table): Must be 19 years or older
On arrival please proceed to the Prize Table, and get briefed from the previous volunteer.
Selling programs, event tickets and raffle tickets (must be 19 years of age to sell).
Once your shift is completed, please hand over the role to the next volunteer.
The prize table volunteer works under the supervision of the Promotions Coordinator.

Music Runners/Registration Table Assistant : Must be 12 years or older
Runners work under the direction of the Registration Desk Supervisor, on arrival please proceed to the registration desk, and check in.
Picking up music, delivering it to the music player/announcer and returning music from finished events to the Registration Desk Supervisor.

Timers: Must be 18 years or older
On arrival, please proceed the launching area (Can Skate ice gate) where our Ice Captain will direct you to your position.
Direct any questions about this role to the judging panel.
The Timer sits with the judging panel and times skater’s movements with a stopwatch.
The event referee will advise the length of the program and when to begin and end timing, or what specific portions of the program require timing to be done. The event referee will also discuss the process should a skater be either under or over the allotted time.
Once your shift is completed, please hand over the role to the next volunteer.

Gate on/Gate Off Volunteers (Ice Captain): Must be 18 years or older

The Gate on Volunteer opens and closes the gate for skaters as they are announced for warm up and to compete.
Skaters will check in for their event rink side and coaches will frequently check in to see which skater is on the ice and if the event is running on time.
Gate on Volunteer should be familiar with the schedule and refer to the printed copy often.
Communicates with the Dressing Room Attendant when applicable to ensure all skaters have arrived and are ready for their event.
The Tech Rep will advise if there is any change to the schedule.

Dressing Room Attendant (Ice Captain Assistant)
Must be 18 years or older and female
On arrival, please proceed the launching area (Can Skate ice gate) where our Ice Captain will direct you to your position.
The Dressing Room Attendant Volunteer provides security and assistance in the dressing rooms.
The volunteer will notify skaters and coaches and Ice Captain of skater pulls, no shows or late arrivals.
They will be familiar with the schedule and will communicate to skaters and coaches whether the event is running on time, ahead or behind.
Ice Captain will be located at the launching area.
Once your shift is completed, please hand over the role to the next volunteer. Direct any questions about this role to the Gate On/Off volunteers (Ice Captains).

Awards (Medals Assistant): Must be 18 years or older
On arrival please proceed to the registration desk.
Pick up the walkie talkie and any medals left to be handed out from the previous volunteer.
The Medals Assistant Volunteers will organize all medals, trophies and certificates for each event and deliver them to the award ceremony location along with a copy of the results.
The Medals assistant will also present the skaters with their medals trophies and certificates during the flood. You may recruit a helper if you’d like assistance during announcements.

Judge’s Stand Setup
Help the Judge’s stand coordinator set up and take down the judges stand. After completion assist the other Facilities set up volunteers with setting up and taking down the tables, rink board coverage, signage and general clean up.
